WELCOME

Flood of Memories is a collection of family stories which depict the character and personality of our parents and grandparents.  The authors have named them “The Cast-Iron Generation.”    The thematic organization of the book presents pictures of the lives of the authors and how the entire family lived during the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s.

The opening chapters give an account of the family’s adventures during the Great Ohio River Flood of 1937; the following sections present individual memoirs,  anecdotes (amusing, or character-building), and a string of activities, all of which reveal how a middle-class  family lived through depression, flood, war, and a terrible accident.  The importance of this work is the fact that it is typical of most average families of the mid-20th Century. There are also some Horse stories that relate to Horses for Sale.
